Jarrett K. Payne, J.D., MBA Jarrett Payne left a successful career at The Boeing Company to start NW Venture Law because he saw a need for a law firm which understood the challenges companies face in today’s global economy where business changes daily instead of quarterly. Jarrett’s legal practice focuses on business and corporate law, intellectual property law, and immigration.

At Boeing, Jarrett led numerous negotiations in technology acquisitions, intellectual property licensing, procurements, proposal reviews, sales campaigns, government contracts, and joint venture and collaboration agreements. He also significantly influenced intellectual property protection strategies, commercialization of intellectual property assets including clean technologies, and emerging market analysis for technology sourcing and product development. In his last position at Boeing, Jarrett was a Regional Manager responsible for the Asia Pacific region for Intellectual Property Contracts and Licenses. He has experience negotiating with customers in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East during his tenure.

Jarrett is also a founder of the Community and Entrepreneurship Clinic at Seattle University. The clinic has helped build a stronger community and economy by assisting over 100 small businesses and entrepreneurs. Jarrett continues to be a vital part of this legal clinic volunteering his time as a supervising attorney and business mentor.
